GIVING BACK
Tree Aid
Throughout 2018 GRASSify & TREE AID are joining forces to plant a minimum of 1000 trees in the drylands of Africa to help the local people lift themselves out of poverty and protect their environment.
For every 15 SQM of artificial grass installed we will plant a Shea or Mango tree which will provide a micro business and sustainable income as well as help to build an ecosystem in lands of drought. If you would like to help us achieve our goal contact GRASSify for a free quotation or you can donate directly via our just giving page – www.justgiving.com/helpgrassifyplant1000trees
TREEAID work to create thriving, sustainable communities throughout the isolated and remote regions of Africa. They work with locally-based teams in the drylands of Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali and Niger and the isolated areas of Ethiopia, working with communities to build skills, knowledge and self-reliance.

Food & Nutrition
n the areas in which we work, one child dies of hunger every two minutes – but there is hope. We help villagers grow and use trees for nutritious food all year round.
Earning an Income
When you have no money, basics like health care and education are out of reach. We help villagers use tree products to make the money they desperately need, by providing business skills training, improving production and creating opportunities to work together.

Defending People’s Rights
A tree is no use to you if you can’t reach it, or if someone else harvests its produce. We also work with communities to agree on rules for using shared forests, so the environment is protected, and the forests become a group interest.

Grass-A-Granny
Grass-A-Granny is a new incentive thought up by GRASSify in an attempt to put old rubbish and waste to good use.
“I have never liked the thought of excessive rubbish, even as a youngster I would buy products in the stores with far too much packaging and think what a waste, at GRASSify we try to put all possible waste products to good use such as our grass offcuts being made into grassify flip-flops, waistcoats, doormats and even bicycles covered in grass. In our house if you stand still for long enough we are likely to cover YOU in grass!”
Joe MehdawiManaging Director | GRASSify
Joe had the idea for Grass-A-Granny some time ago when after completing a job for a financially privileged family in South West London, there was a section of grass left over around 3M wide and 1M long.
The family had no real use for the excess grass and Joe through previous charitable work realised it would suit an elderly lady he knew of that wasn’t able to leave the house so frequently.
She had a small concrete and fairly bare balcony, which wasn’t so pleasing to sit out on, and so he requested permission to take the section to the lady. Since this granny was grassified although she cannot get out of the house much due to health issues she regularly enjoys a lovely cup of tea in the sunshine with her slippers off on the balcony and the grass between her toes.
For the remainder of the year and potentially beyond GRASSify are incentivising their new clients to give something back to the elderly and less financially well-off population who cannot get out much by donating their grass offcuts from their artificial grass installation.
Even a small offcut of 50cm x 100cm is enough to make a purpose-built council flat balcony feel like a day in the park and turn a bare balcony of a high rise into a garden balcony at a time in their life when they are not as free and able as they once were.
If you know a Granny who deserves some artificial grass to brighten up their day email jake@grassify.co.uk with their name, address, age, a photograph and size of the area and we will do our best to help put a smile on their face!
