What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We will ask you for the following details in our contact forms :

Your name – that’s handy so we can address you by your name instead of “hey you there” or “oy” or “miss”

Your email – So we can actually send you the information you requested per email. We don’t have a newsletter so don’t worry, we won’t pester you with unnecessary information. If we do feel the need to send you a newsletter in the future, we will first ask you to subscribe to one before we send you them.

Your phone number  – Artificial Grass installations are precise works and we want to make sure all your details are correct. So we might call you for more information or additional details regarding your installation / request. We don’t do any cold calling and certainly won’t call you just to have a chat… ain’t nobody got time for that!

Installation details – for example, how large is your garden, what your garden currently is made out of, what you have already installed, how large your terrace is, if the installation is for kids, dogs, commercial or sports purposes. We need all this to determine what price to give you and what grass suits your needs best. We’re the expert so please trust that we will give you the best option at the best price as long as you provide us with the right information.

Your address – well it would be nice to know where we’re installing our artificial grass don’t you think? Things could get really complicated otherwise!

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

All our contact forms are sent through to our personal emails, that is where they will be stored. We also save your contact forms on an app called “Flamingo” inside our website. This is only as a back up in case our emails stop working.

Your emails will be stored in Flamingo for 2 years and then they will be deleted. However, if you wish for us to delete your data before that time, do give us a call and we will make you disappear from our radar forever.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, Google Webmaster tools and Facebook pixel on our site. This means that yes, we track what you do / look at on our site. Just like in a normal shop where there’s a shop assistant making sure you follow the right aisles to see the best products… but then virtual.

This provides us with information we use to make our sites better all the time, so don’t worry, it’s not personal, it’s business.

Who we share your data with

No one… easy right?

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your contact information

All our contact forms are sent through to our personal emails, that is where they will be stored. We also save your contact forms on an app called “Flamingo” inside our website. This is only as a back up in case our emails stop working.

Your emails will be stored in Flamingo for 2 years and then they will be deleted. However, if you wish for us to delete your data before that time, do give us a call and we will make you disappear from our radar forever.

Additional information

How we protect your data

We have a Security certificate installed on our websites and use very difficult passwords to make sure hackers don’t get to your information.

What data breach procedures we have in place

If we do get hacked, and think your data might have been taken, we will contact you to make sure you know what information was taken. What a hacker would do with the seize of your garden though is beyond us… but just in case, we’ll always inform you.

What third parties we receive data from

No one, we are in the Garden business, not the hackers business.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

We don’t profile – ain’t nobody got time for that!
